In the face of the class-action lawsuit that the iPod Nano scratches too easily, a couple of other lawsuits have popped up against Apple. These are frivolous lawsuits by people trying to get into Apple's deep pockets, and Apple doesn't want to simply pay off these lawsuits or pay any money that it shouldn't have to. However, the latest in iPod lawsuits is that iPod owners are complaining that their iPods stop functioning after repeated hits of a sledgehammer. A couple of customers on the plantiff side admitted that they didn't completely crush the iPod with one blow, but needed to hit it repeatedly before the iPod failed to be used anymore.

A smaller group of iPod owners in Long Beach, California are in a snorkeling club. Not one of them had pause when they thought of listening to music as they dove into the water.
